Why can’t I log in to Dlinkrouter.local?
Most of you have been thinking, that for a long time we are using our router, and for the default login and configuration, we use admin and left the password field blank by default. But suddenly, it stops working, and you will be no longer be able to access your router’s web interface using the default gateway Dlinkrouter.local along with the password and username. Let us start the process from the beginning and implement the configuration in a proper guided way. Do not perform reset to your router, again, and again, it can jam or fridge your router, and it would not be able to work anymore.
Fixing the Dlinkrouter.local login issue
Connect the computer the LAN of router
Take a computer or any other device to which you can perform this reset process. Connect the network port of your device to the LAN port of your D-Link router. LAN ports are also known as the internet ports or the Local Area Network. Leave the WAN port of the router to hook with the modem.
Connect the modem and router to the WAN
Now take another Ethernet wire and click it with the WAN port of the modem, whereas the other head of the Ethernet wire will go to the link with the WAN port of the router. Check the activeness of the modem and the router with the solid LED lights over the hardware of the modem and the router.
Check the status of the LED to confirm
If you see there is no LED light on the modem and the router, then remove the Ethernet wires from both the devices and hook it again. Press the power button also that you will find at the back of the router, just near to the power port. Remove the backup batteries from the back of the modem, and after a while insert it again.
Enable the local area connection
Go under the Control Panel of the router, and then go to Network Connections. Thereafter make sure that you have enabled your Local Area Connection, and is not bridged with any other connections. If you find an icon called “Bridge” delete it instantly.
If you see that your local area connection has been marked with “Bridged”, then right-click to the option “Local Area Connection” and then select and remove by clicking the option “Remove from Bridge”.
Check for the IP address or the Default Gateway
Check the IP address of your router and the computer. the computer that you are using must have an IP address in the same range of the device that you are trying to configure with this computer. Most of the series in the D-Link router uses the IP 192.168.0.x ranges.
Get a note of default login credentials
If you are trying to configure your D-Link router, then make sure that you have a piece of complete information about the default login addresses, and the default gateways of your Dlinkrouter.local By default it is the login gateway of your D-Link router. The IP address can also be the default gateway of your router.
If Using static IP address
If you are using http://192.168.0.1 to enter into the web interface of your router with a static IP address, then you should have to go to the following network keys one by one;
Local Area Network
Select Internet Protocol; TCP/IP, and then
Hit the option “Properties.”
Use the below options to set the IP address, DNS server, and Subnet mask;
IP address can be: 192.168.0.5
Subnet Mask can be: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateways can be: 192.168.0.1
The preferred DNS server: 18.104.22.168 or it can be 22.214.171.124
Use a genuine web browser
or you can use the options whichever your ISP provides to you. Click OK tab continuously for two times, and then open a web directory, like internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari for iOS, etc. In the address bar of the browser use the above-mentioned IP address and click login or continue.
Getting the basic home page
On the login page, enter the default credentials of your router. Take the details of the login credential form the body of the router, and input in the respective places. The password will be left blank by default. then click continue, and you will get the login page of your Dlinkrouter.local
If you do not get the basic home page of your router, then you need to reset your D-Link router using the reset button on its hardware
Reset the router to factory defaults
Take any type of small and thin paper pin or the kneading sticks to press the reset button. Press and hold the reset button of your D-Link router setup for at least 14 to 15 seconds, and then relieve. After that, the router will go in the condition of booting up. After finishing the boot-up process it will get its actual factory default settings. Then you have to start the configuration from the start.
